Blame the CEO?

Ya know, everyone's been jumping on the "Blame the CEO" wagon with BP, but let's take a look at a few other scenarios:

Last year, I believe it was in January or February, a plane crashed in Buffalo, NY. Did we blame the CEO of the airline for that?

Last year, a Marine aircraft crashed into a house in California. Did we blame the Generals, or the President for that?

A teacher went on a shooting spree, killing fellow facualty. Did we blame the Dean of the College?

I know that Tony Hayward is the easy target, but do we seriously blame him for this? It was a tragic accident that has led to some horrible ecological results, but are we really gonna make him the bad guy here?

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Boston Red Sox

In a game that I had hoped would result in the earth opening up and swallowing both teams, I was pleased to read that the Phillies got destroyed. Jamie Moyer didn't even make it out of the second inning! Yowza!!!

"Holy Man"

FoxNews.com has published a mugshot of Anwar al-Awlaki. He is a pretty big deal with the Taliban and he's been tied to many terrorists that have been caught trying to attack within our borders.

Of course, he claims this to be his "jihad" or his Holy War against the U.S. But just how holy is he? Well, the mugshot they have of him is from being arrested trying to pick up a hooker!

Hand Sanitizer

Ever notice how quickly Hand Sanitizer dries when you rub it in. What if they could isolate trhat chemical and put it in regular water so everytime you washed your hands, they dried super quick?

"Un-American"?

Schools in LA will now be teaching students that the new law in AZ is "un-American". They will be comparing it to segregation, Japanese Internment, and other laws that have now been determined to be illegal and unjust.

My thought is that maybe they should start teaching the students that coming to this country illegally, is "un-American". Maybe they should teach them that breaking the law is "un-American" and that enforcing the laws on our books is the most American thing you can do!

I am so sick of having to coddle every single person who things they've been wronged. I'm sorry your country sucks. You are welcome to come here. Do it the right way, and I won't complain. STOP BREAKING THE LAW!

Perfect Game

If you think that the perfect game* thrown by Galarraga from the Detroit Tigers should remain a one-hit shut-out in the record books, then you're an idiot. There is no reason whatsoever to not change it. Every reason I've heard was stupid, not thought out, or just fucking wrong. He deserves that perfect game. If you think otherwise, you're an idiot. It's that easy.

Clarification

A reader yesterday posted a comment, and it made me realize that my Memorial Day Flag Burning post needed a little clarification. The following quote was received from Anonymous:


"While it is true that men and women around the world defend the right of free speech, to include flag burning, what happened was not a statement of free speech. Free speech is bought and paid for with the blood of Patriots, and it empowers the citizens of our country in ways that others, around the world, will never be able to experience. However with power comes responsibility. The flags were not owned by the individuals that desecrated them. It would be the same as if they had destroyed your car and set it on fire in your drive way. So before you defend those that did this asked yourself if you would want a flag in your yard or attached to your house set on fire, while you and your family slept inside. "

I agree 100% with what this reader said. What these people did was illegal. If you burn someone elses property, as the reader said, it is a crime. Period. Free Speech does not get you around that. These people who burned other peoples stuff were cowards. It is really easy to vandalize someone stuff when they aren't there to stop you, and thats what cowards like these look forward to.

I hope no one who read the entry thought that I was trying to defend the actions of these people. The thought of someone burning a flag makes my blood boil. It enfuriates me. However, that is a right you are given thanks to the sacrifice of thousands of men and women.(If it is your own property that you want to burn.)

My only goal with that entry was to point out the hypocrisy of burning the banner that represents your very rights to burn said banner. If this were to happen in some countries, you would face legal reprecussions. We live in the greatest nation on earth, and without the sacrifices that have been made in the name of that flag, we would have nothing.

Again, burning a flag disgusts me. PEOPLE who burn a flag, disgust me. But I will lay my life down to defend your right to do that because if we take away one right, we have to take them all away, and that is not how America works.

Memorial Day Flag Burning

I'm sure most of you have heard about the burning of flags on Memorial Day. As much as it disgusts me, I was reminded of a very good point today. The men and women we were remembering, are prepared to lay down their lives for someone's right to burn that flag. As despicable an act as it is, it is a right that you are granted thanks to the brave men and women of our Armed Forces.

In short, if you burn a flag, you disgust me. But I will also lay my life down to defend your right to do so.

Memorial Day

This weekend, many of you will gather with family and friends and have barbecues or picnics. You will celebrate Memorial Day as a day off, the opening of pools, and the unofficial start of summer. There is nothing wrong with that.

But I would ask that you remember the men and women who are unable to spend time with their families this weekend. Either having given their lives in defense of this country, or serving overseas to defend this country. Let us not forget the sacrifices made, so that we may all be free.

Enjoy this holiday. Enjoy this time off. But whatever you do, don't forget the men and women who make it possible.

Overreaction?

President Obama has mandated that there will be no new off-shore drilling until they figure out why an explosion occured on an off-shore oil rig last week. I guess its a good thing they didn't freak the fuck out when there was a plane crash in Buffalo, or else they'd have had to suspend all flights until they figured out why it crashed.

Of course, this could have something to do with the fact that the Obama administration is very anti off-shore drilling....

Let's talk immigration

As I'm sure any of you can guess, I support this new immigration law in Arizona. I think its appropriate, I think it makes sense, and I think its about fucking time we take a stand. Every day, hundreds of illegal immigrants pour across the border into Arizona causing violence, trading drugs, and sucking on our welfare system.

Before anyone tries to accuse me of racism, I'm gonna throw it out there right now, I don't hate Hispanics, I hate pricks who fucking suck our welfare system dry. And that's not racism. That's a tax paying American being sick and tired of douche bags taking advantage of our system.

Our administration is now looking for ways to overturn the new law. In other words, the President of the United States of America is trying to find a way to ALLOW illegal aliens to continue pouring across the border. The one person who is singlehandedly responsible for keeping this country safe, is taking part in the destruction of the country he swore to protect.

Hypocrisy at its greatest

It has long been a fact that the media covers Conservative/Republican negativities much closer then those of their Liberal/Democratic opponents. It happened when George Bush was in office, it happened during the elections, and it is happening again.

The news has lambasted the Tea Party for the negative actions of a few select members. These members are racist, they are pricks, and more often then not, they are "infiltrators" that have one goal, to destroy the grassroots organization that protests against the government.

Hypocrisy #1 - There are people that infiltrate the Tea Party simply to try and destroy them because they disagree with the Government. These liberals that feel the need to stop conservative free speech, are the same liberals that were calling George Bush a murderer and a Nazi.

But to continue, there is now an immigration law in Arizona that makes it illegal to be an illegal immigrant in Arizona. People are protesting it all over the country. Somehow, this has gone unnoticed by many members of the media. For those members that are covering it, they describe those protesting as revolutionaries.

Hypocrisy #2 - Tea Party protestors are racist and hate filled. Immigration protestors are revolutionaries who are fighting for the common good.

These hypocritical acts of media coverage will continue forever. The media is not going to admit that they are wrong, and they aren't going to provide fair coverage.

Should we, as Americans, accept that?
